Strange Funeral Customs (part 1)

1) Hanging Coffins of the Bo People

Their heavy wooden coffins extend from the rock face almost 300 feet straight up. Some rest on wooden posts that jut out from the cliffside, others lie in niches cut into the rock or in natural recesses where murals painted in cinnabar red depict scenes from the lives of these curious people, known as the Bo. The Bo, who flourished for some 400 years in the Hemp Pond Valley in Southwest China's Gongxian County, are known in local annals as Ya Ze--"Sons of the Cliffs." They were also called Tu Tian, "Subjugators of the Sky,". In the summer when it was hot, they wore leather coats and warmed themselves by the fire; in the winter, they wore a single sweat garment and carried big fans in their hands. Why the Bo lived this way and interred their dead on the sides of cliffs remain a mystery; only intermittent mention of them exists in Chinese history, and they eventually disappeared without a trace.

2) Madagascar's dance with the dead

The Hanging Coffins of the Bo People is odd but not a very macabre ritual compare with the next one: Dancing with the corpse of a dead loved one, years after their demise. Famadihana, an exhumation or the bones returning ceremony, does not occur outside the central highlands and the attitudes of the Merina and Betsileo. During the ceremony, all family members get together, dance, and sing to celebrate the turning of the dead. Famadihana is a huge familial festivity where people alive can meet the dead. They exhume their dead ancestors to re-pack their bones as well as to give thanks for the blessings they have bestowed from the spirit world with great influences on the living.

Genetically modified animals (part 2)

Last weekend something on TV caught my attention. It was a new animal created by man, let's say in laboratory. The documentary was very interesting and made me do a little research on the net. I find some very odd animals like the liger, the zebroid or the leopon. Of course they have chosen related species for creating this new animals and you will never see this :

But with some luck, you can see the liger (a hybrid cross between a male lion and a tigress). It is the largest of all known felines. Male Ligers are sterile while the females are often fertile. A liger can live over 20 years and can attain huge size (over 3 meters long and over 500 kg weight). Yep is not the kind of house cat, right? Like the liger we have the Tigon (a male tiger and a female lion). I know that this animal is likely to have occurred without human help (there are several testimonies that Liger exist since XVIII - XIX century), but today we find ligers only in captivity ("created by humans"). And this is not all, the situation gets more complicated with the appearance of Ti-Liger, Ti-Tigon, Li-Tigon, Li-Liger (a hybrid among the hybrids. It is a cross breed between a male tiger and a female liger/tigon or a male lion with a female tigon/liger.)

The next animal that caught my attention is the zebroid family (Zorse, Zonkey, Zony - funny names :D). Yep, you guess what animals were used in this pairing.

a) A zorse is the result of crossbreeding a horse and a zebra:

b) Zonkey - is the result of crossbreeding a donkey with a zebra.

c) Zony - is the result of crossbreeding a pony to a zebra.

In the next parts i will post more new animals like Iron Age Pig, Wolf Dog, Leopon Wolphin and many others. Till next time, Cya all !!! :D.

Genetically modified animals (part I)

1) Do you have problems finding your pet in the dark?

I have a friend who has a cat. Nothing strange in that, but he complains that the cat is very active at night (you cat lovers know already that) and he can not sleep well. If you want to know what that means, better see the next movie:

And he wakes up, but amazingly, the cat is nowhere, like in a nightmare. So he start looking for the cat everywhere but without success. The light is off, because his girlfriend is sleeping yet. So where the hell is that fur ball?
In his aid, scientists have found a solution: phosphorescent cat. It's very easy now to find the cat in the dark and kick it (literally) out of the room (door or window, your choice). If you dont believe this cat exist maybe you should look at the next movie:

And they didn't stop at cats. Today we have:

- Glowing in the dark mice
:

- Glowing in the dark pigs:

- Glowing in the dark dogs:

- Even glowing in the dark monkeys:

Way I said "even"? Because we all know the monkeys (Darwin's Theory of Evolution) and the pigs (some similar organs) are related with humans. I will let your imagination fly. Hmm, glowing people? No more serial killers standing in the dark and waiting for the next victim? Yep, thats stupid, i like the way i am now. Ok, maybe i want to fly, but to be modest, it's ok with invisibility too. Hope this was hot news for you all. See you soon. Also please post a comment, just to know your opinions.
